I remember a Dub wedding where the 'best man' was not part of the org.
After his speach he proposed a toast and raised his glass aloft!
The silent reaction from the embarressed wedding party was deafening! I am ashamed to admit that I also ignored his well meant gesture.
I often wish I could go back and 'clink' glasses with him. Ahh hindsight is a wonderfull thing.

Active JWs, hows KN37 going?
by StillGroggy inhey everybody, i had an interesting time pushing a tract that i don't believe in this weekend.
i had to develop my own method of placing it without having to talk about it, since i fear if i was confronted by someone asking "do you people think you're the only true religion", i might break down and tell the person at the door "no, i don't".
the witness at the door with me would scream in terror, and i would be insta-dfed.

Got my copy from the local Dubs last weekend.
Same crap as I was peddling 20 years ago, only difference is no mention of 1914 and "the generation"

Thanks Atlantis for the quote.
I would love to answer paragraph 8 at the book study.
Uh dear conductor, what should the wise and loving father do if his son proceeded to poke his sisters eyes out with a screwdriver? Should he step in or allow it happen to prove just how foolish the sons course of action is.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wow that "clear formatting" icon ROCKS!

Granted, he does allow bad things to happen. But there is a big difference between allowing something to happen and causing it.
Hmm! And I was taught that I would be bloodguilty if I did not partake in the preaching work in an attempt to save lies. Looks like I needn't have bothered, after all how could it be my fault that people chose to ignore the WBTS and incurred the wrath of God?
Consider - If you witnessed a person being raped or tortured and you had the power to stop it, would you? If you turned a blind eye would you feel responsible for that persons suffering?
This is why I have a problem with all this "allowing wickedness for the sake of proving universal soverignty" crap.
How do I get rid of this yellow shading????????????????????

Did anyone actually enjoy field service?

did anyone ever actually admit it if they hated it?.

No - I hated it!
Like most publishers I dreaded anyone showing any interest just in case I had to wake up.
Working with a pioneer or elder could be ok as they knew how to skive big time.

Curious as to what a wedding at the KH is like...
by Riverwatcher ini don't know why this has popped into my head.
just wondering about j/w weddings.. is there music?
are there any traditions used in the ceremony?
-
Sgt Pepper
Awful songs
No confetti
Often no alcohol at the reception
Same talk each time
A very young bride and groom
A good excuse for missing field service
An opportunity to dance with someone of the opposite sex
Despite all this, a wedding was still the highlight of the year - even beating the CO's visit.

Always thought this story was dodgy
Amazing though how many of these urban myths are out there,
Imagine somewhere near you today some "bible study" is being told "There is a brother in Eastern Europe who................"

Hi - This is my first post!
I have a question that I have needed answering for over 20 years now.
Is a story true, that I beleived was true and happily passed on as fact even though I had no evidence.
It went like this:
An interested female was studying in America (a long way from Britain)!
She told her husband that the UN is to ban religion.
"Where did you learn this Top Secret information?" gasped the husband (who happens to be a high ranking UN official).
"I learned it from Jehovahs Witnesses" she replied!!!!!
Conclusion - WBTS claim backed up by the UN itself.
Does this story have any credibility?
Anyone else ever heard it?
I need to know
Cheers
